Congratulations to those who earned Honor Roll in the 3rd quarter,
and to those who earned the Blessed Mother Teresa and Frassati Awards!
Mark your calendars for the following events at SJS:
  • Talent Show auditions will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, from 3:30 til 5:30.
  • Field Day will be held Friday, May 3rd!  Rain date:  Friday, May 10th
  • Our 8th graders will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, May 5th, at 3 p.m., at St. Joseph Church.  Please keep them in your prayers, as they prepare for this special sacrament.
  • We will celebrate Mother’s Day with a special Mass on Wednesday, May 8th, at 9:45 a.m.  Prior to Mass, the school will take part in a Marian procession beginning at 9:30 a.m.,when a statue of Mary will make its way through campus, as students pray and sing in honor of our Blessed Mother.
  • Our annual SJS Talent Show will be held Thursday, May 9th!
  • The 8th graders will celebrate their last school Mass on Thursday, May 16th, at 9:30 a.m.
  • SJS will have a pep rally at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 17th, which will also be the 8th graders’ last day of school at SJS.
  • On Wednesday, May 22nd, we will have an awards assembly at 1:30 p.m.
  • Our last day of school this year (grades K3-7th) will be a half-day on Thursday, May 23rd.
  • Eighth grade graduation will be held Friday, May 24th, at 10 a.m., in the church.

Our schools’ cafeterias have arrived…into the 21st Century! & are communicating with parents totally paperless! Parents, Please be aware that you have been and will continue to be notified about your child’s lunch balances via email. Only in an extreme emergency will you get a hard copy letter for payments due. If you have any questions or need help in registering your child, please call the Diocese of Shreveport Child Nutrition Office at (318) 219-7297 or (800) 256-1542, ext. 297. Lunch payments can be made at school with cash or checks. Soooooooo, don’t miss out…sign up as soon as possible at to receive FREE automated emails .”

Asbestos – containing building materials are located within St. Joseph Catholic School. In their present condition, they present no hazard to school occupants. An Asbestos Management Plan has been developed to prevent the asbestos from becoming a hazard, and you may find this document on file in the school office. The plan is available for inspection upon request and appointment.

IPM Program – St. Joseph Catholic School is now participating in the Louisiana Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. Please contact the school office if your child is hypersensitive to standard pest control products.
