St. Joseph PTO Mission Statement

The St. Joseph Parent Teacher Organization is a faith-based entity comprised of the parents, teachers and the parish of St. Joseph for the purpose of promoting and ensuring the spiritual and educational excellence of St. Joseph School.

Appreciation Committee

This committee gives encouragement and recognition to the faculty, administration, active membership and students. Committee is responsible for In-service Teacher’s Breakfast, Mother’s Day Mass reception and Teacher Appreciation week.

School Directory Committee

This committee is responsible for helping collect and organize contact information of enrolled families into the school directory.

Facilities Committee

This committee supports regular or special SJS PTO meetings by scheduling the use of facilities for meetings, scheduling special attractions or entertainment, coordinating workdays, and procuring and managing refreshments.

Kindergarten Village Committee

SJS has a wonderful learning environment for our pre-schoolers. This committee would give the “new” parents an opportunity to participate in the PTO. This committee also addresses the needs specific to the Village.

Hospitality Committee

This committee coordinates efforts to encourage participation by all parents in activities for the PTO and school. This committee is responsible for coordinating social activities including the Ice Cream Social, Back to School Night,  Pastries with Parents, Muffins with Mom, and other such events should the need arise.

Morale Committee

This committee gives encouragement and recognition to the faculty, administration, active membership and students. Events include Back-to-School teacher gifts, Grandparent’s Day and Field Day.

 Catholic Schools Week/Political Action Committee

This committee establishes and maintains communication with the National Organization for Catholic Schools Parents and the diocesan representative, coordinates political action within the association in support of the national advocacy campaigns promoted by the National Organization for Catholic School Parents, and coordinates activities for Catholic Schools Week.

Community Fundraising Committee

This committee is responsible for promoting, collecting and sending in Box-Top’s for Education. This committee also schedules and promotes SJS monthly dinners with proceeds contributed to individual grade levels throughout the school year, including SJS Barnes and Noble Night.

Safety Committee

This committee helps access the safety, security and health-related needs of the students, staff and school. The committee shall make recommendations and assist in carrying out related tasks.

School Store Committee

This committee operates the school store. Responsibilities include ordering supplies, keeping inventory and selling products in the school store. There is much potential for growth in our school.

Falcon ANGELS Committee

This committee will assist by Addressing Needs through Giving Encouragement and Lending Support to our SJS families during their time of need, through the coordination of meals and prayer chains. Volunteer are needed for preparation or purchasing of meals, and/or being part of an email prayer chain as needed.

Falcon FAMILIES Committee

Veteran families are paired with new SJS families to welcome and assist the new students and their families with the transition in to a new school community.

School Supply Committee

This new committee will oversee the ordering of school supply packets for the students, and oversees the distribution of the packets prior to the start of school. A committee of PTO volunteers has been formed to assist with the disbursement.

Head Room Mom

This individual ascertains that each grade level has at least 2 room mothers to help their respective teachers with class needs, field trips, and class events throughout the school year, as well as keep the individual room mothers informed of the dates and possible monetary needs of such events.
